Valkani
Valkani are a race of Caniods, an anthropomorphic canine race, that split into a number of Subraces, all of whom interbreed but every child has the dominant traits of one of their parents, normally they are born in litters of 4 or more. They can be found everywhere men are, serving alongside the humans in positions of service, only Vahasmilan in the South Edarian Islands which is their home, do they have an entirely separate kingdom.
Valkani were once the Great Wolf, but during the last day of the first age were evolved into the first iteration of the Valkani race before they bred themselves for different roles within the Valkani society. There are dozens of breeds, all of them have a purpose within the great tapestry of life, or that's what the priests of Hjarigoth the Father and Gragon the Mother tell them.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The Valkani are a anthropomorphic dogs, who walk on their two hind legs, with pads on their feet and great claws, their arms a like humans arms, except that they end in clawed hands. The Valkani have bodies covered in hair, rather than fur, which means they do need to wear clothing, while they do have naturally thicker skin that humans, they do still require the use of armour to protect vital parts of their body. Their hands are fully pose able so they can wield weapons just as a human does. Valkani trait are dependent on the sub-species, whether they are faster or stronger than a human, or more intelligent.
Genetics and Reproduction
The Valkani reproduce much like any humanoid does, they tend to have litters of two to six and are normally pregnant for 3 to 4 months. While each Valkani sub-species can interbreed with the all of the the others, the litter will be off one of the parent sub-species not both and will not have traits of the other, who's genetics is dominant is not always the same for each pairing, sometimes it will be oine and sometimes it will be the other, in the case of a Schadrag male and a Vulpina female, it could be the male in one litter, then the female in the next litter.
Valkani mothers tend to have a litter every 4 to 5 years, though this is not always the case, sometimes it is a year or two in the case of most Hamindars, and in the case of pure Akitlasha, it can be 7 or 8 between litters.
Growth Rate & Stages
Valkani have a very similar growth stages to humans, except that their childhood runs between the ages of 0 and 8, their adolescence runs between the ages of 9 and 14, young adulthood runs between 15 and 25, true adulthood from 26 to 50, middle age and geriatric ages run about the same.
Ecology and Habitats
The Valkani are very similar to Gnomes in that they can live in almost any environment and tend to live in human populations, though they cannot properly regulate their body heat, so are best suited to temperate climates.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Valkani sub-species are all omnivores, they tend to need less sustenance than an average human, though some of the larger sub-species need to consume more, they also tend to be mostly meat eaters, as they live in mostly human societies they get their food from farming, hunting and foraging. They are however deadly allergic to mushrooms of any kind, and will get very sick if eating any onions.

Social Structure
Valkani have a very similar social structure to humans, as they live in human society. Though in Vahasmilan they have an ordered civilization, where each sub-species has it's place and they do not deviate from it, Schadrag are Law Enforcement and Akitlasha are the soldiery, though Vulpina are also inclined to martial pursuits, though they tend to be hunters and scouts.
Facial characteristics
All Valkani sub-species have canine like features and tend to have long muzzles with a black nose on the end, more rounded eyes than humans and a big mouth with sharp teeth, and obviously prominent canine teeth. Each Valkani subspecies is distinctive in their features though they all have these common traits.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Valkani are distributed throughout the world, it is not unsual to find them in human society everywhere, but due to their weakness, the fact that they cannot regulate their heat, they are better suited to living in temperate climates
Average Intelligence
Valkani have a similar level of intelligence compared to humanity, though some of the sub-species are more intelligent than others
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
All Valkani have a superior sense of smell than most of the species of Hamanshiron, and also have an improved sense of hearing compared to humans. They do not have Psionics but certain sub-species have an affinity with magic.

There is no average physique for a Valkani, because different sub-species are larger or smaller than others, though depending on the the species depends on how big they might get.
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Each subspecies have different hair coulouring, and markings which further mark them from their fellows like their distinctive facial features.
