Hakil Tarkeadi

Most Hakil Tarkeadi

Hakil Tarkeadi is the elected leader of the Halfling Strider clans and their representative to the Council of light. Once every twenty years the Strider clans meet in a carnival they setup just outside Valantar, and it last roughly around two months.   It begins when the first Strider clan arrives and ends a week after the last does, and the Moot begins. It is a series of arguments for why the leader of a particular clan shouldn't be the representative.   It generally ends up that the youngest of the clan leaders or the one who has been in their job the shortest amount of time is saddled with the job. The reason they fight so hard (and there has been a few fist fights over it) is that Strider clans don't like staying in 1 place.   And the representative and their clan has to stay in Valantar for 20 years. What the clans tend to forget is this is when they become their most prosperous. Hakil didn't, his grandfather had been representative when he was a youngling and saw the wealth the Abaerk clan gained.   While he wasn't the youngest or the newest leader, in the middle of the arguing and the pushing, he held his hands up & told his peers that he & his clan would sacrifice for the people & take up the job. There was a quick vote(the quickest vote in history of the Moot). He won.   Under Hakil's leadership the Abaerk clan have prospered, some of his clan think the sun shines out of his butt, some think he's the Avatar of Jakim Heartbright, the Halfling Trickster God, the rest really don't care as long as he doesn't volunteer to stay another 20 years.   The truth is Hakil is just a greedy, clever, gold obsessed Halfling that just happened to luck into his position, the only time he has time for the gods is when he is praying that his trading partners don't cheat him or find out he's cheating them

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Lets be honest, Hakil's absolute driving force is making money, even for a Strider Halfling he's a money grubbing little sod, it's almost everything he thinks about, except for eating and drinking, which he does reluctantly cause that costs money.
