Speak with Animals
Speak with Animals is a spell that exists in several shapes: as a divine spell available to Druids, as an arcane spell available to Bards, and as an at-will ability for Meakos and Rangers. This is not an advanced spell, but is within the reach of even the most basic fully-educated casters.
There is some connection between this spell and the ability of Haltia to speak with animals native to their home ecosystem.
As a ranger, Potha Sarana can cast this spell at will. Kipilu of Tezitkal can also cast this spell, but only for woodland animals.
Using this spell, the caster can speak with any animal they see and understand the animal as if it was speaking a humanoid language. More intelligent animals tend to have longer memories and can be more effectively communicated with.
Animals spoken to are influenced by the spell, often taking on personalities with humanoid cultural influences. Studies have shown that there is some link between the animal's pre-existing behavior and the new persona, as well as a link between the caster and the cultural influences at play. An animal's enchanted persona also reflects a less advanced version of their potential persona if they are affected by the Awaken spell.
Druids and bards can cast this as a ritual spell.
