Salana the Old

Salana the Old is a paladin of Agamine the Lost, an old and accomplished Prism who keeps the silent god's secrets. She has become an artificery mentor to Kipilu of Tezitkal and a general contact for God Squad.   Salana is a gentle and friendly person, relaxed to the point of disinterest. She has accepted that she cannot change the world and has found peace in that acceptance. As a teacher, she can be a harsh taskmaster with high standards though she isn't violent or cruel. She can be a bit cranky when made to do things, which might influence her teaching style.   As her name suggests, Salana is quite old; her parents remembered the Great Wars of Maradia and raised her in the image of the legendary paladin Patana the Painted. Salana was part of a brief boom in paladins of Agamine before the Silent God turned his back on most of the world.    Salana spent a century and a half devoting her life to the Guardian Order of the Vanished Sepulchre, a group of paladins who protected Agamine's secrets and relics from misuse or destruction. Eventually, Agamine felt that this order was an unnecessary attachment to the material world and he demanded that the order cease to recruit and close its sanctuaries. Salana was part of the last generation of knights before that happened and presided over the closing of the Sanctuary of Vetuza. While Salana and her fellow knight Borimia did seal away several caches of Agamine relics and closed down the Initiation Chamber, the two did keep the living quarters of the Sanctuary active as a hidden refuge for local community members.    When the Mezowars took over the Kingdom of Ortay and embraced a fundamentalist view of the Temple of Ishket, Salana and Borimia protected many people, religious items, texts, and sentimental items from government purges. While some in the community hopes that the violence would rouse the old knights to teach the old arts once more, Salana and Borimia kept to their oaths and did not.   Salana requires her sleek and subtle Construct Armor to move with the vigor she is accustomed to. Many hard labors and battles, along with old age, have left her unarmored body weak and injured. With the armor, she can seem like she isn't even that old (for bursts).
