Ritara Ziriba
Ritara Ziriba is the martyr of the House of Esam: a perfect and innocent child taken too soon by the fires of war and the misery of the world. Cut down by Sunekan musketeers while accompanying her father, Esam the Great, in his invasion of Sunekan lands, Ritara was simply too fragile and pure to return to this earth. That is how she is remembered, at least.
Ritara never really got to live. She grew up simultaneously abused and adored by her disfunctional parents and then was essentially conscripted into her father's warpath at age sixteen. Her soul refused magical resurrection when she finally died five years later.
As a person, Ritara was mostly just a gregarious and outgoing person who wanted to have fun and relax. She avoided her studies, enjoyed song and drink, and preferred socializing and meeting new people to anything else. This was true in the palace, during her sorcery training, and during her time on campaign. She was also prone to bouts of extreme depression.

Personal history
Ritara was Esam's eldest and most precious daughter, who died tragically on the field of battle in her early twenties. Miserable and overwhelmed by her parent's disfunction, Ritara chose to remain in Paradise and refused magical revival. She became a symbol of innocence, love, and loss to Esam and the rest of the family after her death. She was put on a pedestal as a dead woman by those who stood in the way of her happiness while she was alive, but her sister Alnira knew the truth.
