The Snow Wyvern Fable of Gahthek and Tanse.
This is the most recent fable to come from Haert. Gahthek and Tanse were a travelling duo who first met while being captured by a Russ village to be eaten. They escaped through their ingenuity and fled to a neighbouring, multi-species city called Ashenpine. Its heavily defended borders and walls helped protect them from their pursuers. They adventured together for months, gaining friends, losing friends and making a name for themselves across the Haert Peninsula. In Ahm there was an increasing report of Snow Wyverns, the largest variant, migrating there. As Ahm was not their native home, Shamans and Druids gleaned from the creatures that there was a threat from an eastern landmass, of which little had been explored, that had made its way from the east. The two were requested to help and travelled to the landmass. There they found that a cult of Branded had created a plague and were testing it on Wyverns. Their goal was to create a disease that would eradicate non-branded individuals as they belived they were chosen to create the new world. At first they were far outmatched and had to retreat back to Ahm. However the cult followed them, realising that they had been discovered before their plan was realised, unknown to Gahthek and Tanse. They spent a week speculating a way to defeat the cult. But they were forced into a corner when the cult started their plans prematurely and began killing the north-west residents of Ahm indiscriminately, releasing a disease that spreads through spores in a similar way to a parasitic fungus. While the soldiers and the general fended off the lesser cultists, Gahthek had the idea of using the migrated Wyverns against the leader. The fight was long and brutal, the cult leader being very accomplished in his abilities, having an Alter Body that had the general texture of copper, but Gahthek and Tanse killed him with one final blow between his eyes. They returned back to to the city of Ashenpine with newfound glory and they were honoured the title of fables, they soon moved up through the pantheon of fables and joined Hassi-merr the Kingsjade Warrior, Movikaz the Forgiven and Gotovyik the Mighty. No one truly knows what happened after this. Some say the story ends in Gahthek and Tanse's marriage, some say they continued adventuring and met their end with a feral Kensan in the dead of night. And some say live among the common folk, in Ashenpine or some other place under a false alias, but one thing's certain, their name will ring throughout the ages with a clarity that will match the Giants themselves.
