Skoshi
A welcome bowl of hot soup was placed in my lap. It was a similar colour to redwood strips back at my hometown, having this warm and homely look to it. Dappled on top was a variety of green vegetables such as spring onions and chopped bay leaves. The smell was inviting beyond belief. I looked up to my host and smiled as she placed a fur blanket over my shoulders. I had only heard stories about these ceatures, the Skoshi. I had heard that they dwell deep in the northern meadows of Singhaid. That their fur was so thick they could stand in the heart of a blizzard and not feel a thing. Well, most of these things were true. One thing I had not expected was for them to be so welcoming. I learned that they were not viscous like the Russ and not scared of us like the Feng-hait, but kind and warm, granted you had no ill intent. Despite their more primitive ways of surviving, they were... the most civilised group I think I had ever met.

Basic Information
Anatomy
The Skoshi are a northern race that reside in the landmass of Singhaid. Thus they need a thick coat of fur. They take the form of anthropomorphic red pandas who come to about double the size of Ahmegg. They often look very fluffy and their tails, despite being very flexible, are quite wide in diameter. They usually have a little more body fat than the other races to help with the colder climate.

They are renowned for their thick fur of white, red and black on their underbelly, as well as their tails.

Growth Rate & Stages
They reach adulthood in about thirteen years. When they are born they are hairless and are about the size of their parents fist. They are born in litters of 3 or 4.
Ecology and Habitats
Their main habitat is the more snowy northern areas and the mountainous terrain in the country of Singhaid.
Dietary Needs and Habits
The Skoshi are omnivorous, they eat things such as bark, leaves, wood, vegetables, fruit, fish, insects and red meat. They are in fact intolerant to white meat such as chicken.
Biological Cycle
Their fur gets a great deal thicker in the winter. As well as this they do put on animal pelts they have acquired.

Social Structure
They elect a governing family based on who has made the most progress to their villages. They help to run the tasks and assign roles to the strongest individuals.
Facial characteristics
They have white cheeks and white eyebrows, little black noses and short ears.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
They are most common in Singhaid, but they also migrate to the northern reaches of Hoolye and Kekeyahm.
Average Intelligence
They are slightly more primitive than the other species, adopting the sort of settlements you would see the Wildlings from Game of Thrones would build. Their weapons are metal but have a lesser quality than Ahmegg blades, often being more brittle due to a higher carbon content.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
They have much better eyesight to combat the blizzards and the very reflective icy ground. They actually have tinted lenses in their eyes to act as natural sunglasses.

Naming Traditions
Their names usually have the letter N involved. The letter (much like the letter Z in Russ names) is a common part of their noun srtucture.
Major Organizations
Their are no real governing towns. They tend to focus on the immediate residents of their own settlements.
Beauty Ideals
Having thick fur and a little bit of pudge. With females in particular, they often paint circular symbols on their belly to put emphasis on this. The emphasis of the belly tells people that you are well fed, healthy and fertile.
Gender Ideals
The females are even more affectionate than the males are. But aside from this, they don't really have assigned roles dependent on gender. They find roles based on who is the best at it.
Courtship Ideals
Skoshi are naturally very affectionate towards one another, however when two mate, they mate for life. It is rumoured that they have this sense that tells them exactly who they should be with. Most cases lead to an extended period of eye contact before they start sniffing each other's muzzle. This rumour sprouted because not many have seen a relationship fail between two Skoshi, regardless of gender or how young the two seem to "fall in love". As well as this, the two Skoshi are always very similar ages, with little more than a year's margin.
Relationship Ideals
The Skoshi have a very special way of showing affection to their partner. Cuddling is a common practice among everyone but couples will perform three main acts. They often cook for each other. Creating and, subsequently giving food, to their partner shows that they wish for them to be healthy and happy. The food is an act of gift-giving. They also groom each other, not for cleanliness but is a more private form of affection that does not involve sexual intercourse. It acts to provide a comforting atmosphere when in each other's company. The third and more outward expression is to sniff at each other's faces and ears. It is essentially their version of kissing.

They are pretty much in the iron age with their tools, weapons and methods of hunting.
Major Language Groups and Dialects
The main language of the Skoshi people is called Renoshi, although, dialects may vary the further north you go.
Common Etiquette Rules
Seemingly they act very offended if people reject their acts of kindness or act hostile in any way. Their common belief is to be as welcoming as possible, treating everyone as a friend.
History
The Skoshi are incredibly welcoming and kind to outsiders, given that they do not wish to hurt or exploit them. This derives from the guilt they feel after an individual called Aton Wenti wanted to claim a large amount of land in Hoolye. He lost to Hassi-merr, but the rest of the population feels guilty and ashamed for his insolence and desires. Since then they are known to be the best hosts of get-togethers and the most kind and affectionate race in general. They feel the need to do this despite people having forgiven them.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
They have not ventured too far south from their homeland, but a few may appear in Hoolye or Kekeyahm.

They are twice as tall as the Ahmegg but have a little more body fat that acts as insulation.
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Their fur is mostly orange but their underbelly and their limbs are coloured a dark black.
