Construction beginning/end
After seizing Ennisgwyn from the secluded Wildehart tribes to the north, nobles of clan Kamakaen and Hoshiba are sent to establish an unprecedented project. A forge the likes of which had never been seen, with arcane knowledge to fuel the creation of a new, effectively limitless source of manual labour.
In the closing years of the Unstable Era, the string of islands between the continents of Wildehart and Teikokami had been settled by human tribes from the former, though their wealth of natural resources made the small archipelago highly sought after by the Hajinaru Empire. This desire to control the territory, then known as Ennisgwyn, only grew when fonts of seemingly arcane energy began to spring forth from the ground, often heralded by a deluge of undead and malevolent spirits. Though utilizing this new form of energy was not without some risks, the potential uses far outweighed them, as Hajinaru scholars (namely those of the Hoshiba clan) had long theorized that a source of power existed that would facilitate the mass production of mechanical constructs. The Kamakaen clan were more than happy to lend their smithing resources and expertise in this project, assuming that they would receive majority control over the facility itself, a condition that was begrudgingly conceded, the Hoshiba clan settling with satisfying their curiosity and expanding their knowledge above all else. And so after a brief military campagin, aided by the Kamera clan naval fleets, the Wildehart tribes were driven off, their land then prepared for construction on a scale rarely seen in this age. Across almost 20 years, the city-sized facility referred to as "The Soul-Forge" was built on the larger of the two islands, where a comparatively small town built up over time to accomodate it's constant workforce (which often comprised of working prisoners, and foreign slaves). The first Arcanic servants, meanwhile, were produced in small numbers as early as 4 years into it's construction
