Listen kid, I know you need money and won't just take what I could give you, so I hope you'll at least listen to my advice.
They may be safe, but stay far away from the megacorps. This isn't some piece of "urban advice", I learned that first hand. They'll just wring you out like a wet dish towel, and even then you won't be free. You'll still be broke and they'll have their hand around your spine.
So here's what's going to happen, I'm going to take you in on a interim basis so you can see what it's like to operate in a Guild. They'll respect you, you'll make friends while you're paid what you're actually owed and you'll come away from it with lots of useful skills, not to mention the Experience and the loot you'll get even if you're prone to just standing back and doing your job.
