The People of the Wind

The People of the Wind were the four founding races which were primarily responsible for the civilization in the world of Griot’s Song before humans came to their prominence. They were the Knocsi, the Jaari'i, the Aral, and the Nihl. Each race acted as an army for the The Four Knights of the Wind who were responsible for creating them.

The Knocsi

The Knocsi were the most ancient of the four races and are believed to bare the most resemblance to the demons they warred against.

The Jaari'i

The Jaari’i existed around the same time as the Knocsi. They employed sorcery that allowed them to become stronger, faster and more durable when fighting under a clear moon.

The Aral

The Aral stayed mostly to the high altitudes. They are said to have had shamans who could raise mountainous structures. They were isolationist for the most part, aside from the Great Arals .

The Nihl

The Nihl were the most mysterious sorcerous race in the world of Griot’s Song. Even though they were native to, Ridera and Ilmeya, it is believed they had gathered in Greater Ridera, but a ritual gone wrong had caused the majority of them to disappear.
