Greyrock Park

Greyrock Park is located in the middle of the town of Greyrock. It is an area of roughly 10 acres, meticulously maintained landscaping, mostly grass, a few trees, and flower beds can be found along some of the edges. In the center of the park is the massive greyrock stone. It's a partially buried cube of grey stone, roughly 15 meters on a side, and whose top is level with the ground. The stone is entirely out of place with geology of the area. The park is surrounded by a wrought iron fence 4 meters high.
The origin of the stone is unknown. Scientists have analyzed the stone and have been unable to find an origin location anywhere on Earth. While many grey stones reside in the area, the type of stone is unknown. It is not polished, but the sides are perfectly carved, but rough like pumice.
No one knows who maintains the park. There are no building, no workers, and the park is off limits to visitors, except for the sidewalk around the perimeter of the park, and outside the fence.
Even old journals of goldminers from 150 years ago mention finding the park, in the same condition, when they first came west in the mid 1800s.
Local native Americans avoided the area, say the stone was not of this world, and stories of bursts of purple or orange light from the stone bode strange happenings in the area. While the stone is not evil, per the shamans, the spirit world tells them that it is not of this world.
Considering the many strange happenings around the town of Greyrock, most assume the stone is the epicenter of the strange magics which have appeared over the last few decades.
Stories have also told of a woman walking into and out of the stone over the years, always with the same description, but not the same clothes each time. No one knows if it's a trick of the lights, or if there is someone, or some spirit, attached to the stone.
