Preamble
In the reign of His Majesty King Magna Insula, Sovereign Lord of the Great Isle Union, descendant of the noble House Insula, be it declared and proclaimed that the order of succession to the Crown shall be made firm and clear, for the safety of the throne and the unity of the realm.
By counsel of Parliament and with the assent of the estates, this Third Amendment is sealed to establish the rightful inheritance of the Crown of the Great Isle Union.
Article I — Of the Heir by Eldest Child
- From this day forth, the Crown shall descend unto the eldest child of the reigning monarch, whether son or daughter, without regard to gender.
- Such eldest child shall be styled Heir Apparent by birthright and shall ascend to the throne upon the death or lawful abdication of their parent.
Article II — Of the Absence of Issue
- Should the King or Queen leave behind no child of body, then succession shall pass unto the nearest blood-kin of the departed sovereign, being as close in relation as may be found, yet not beyond the line of King Marius Insula, First Sovereign of the Union.
- Where more than one such claimant doth stand in equal degree of kinship, the male heir shall be preferred before the female.
Article III — Of the House of Insula
- While the Crown belongeth foremost to the House of Insula, it is decreed that any lawful descendant of King Marius Insula may be deemed heir, even though they bear another name or belong to another house.
- None beyond the bloodline of King Marius may lay claim to the throne, lest the unity of the Union be broken.
Article IV — Of the High Court’s Charge
- The High Court of the Union shall bear solemn duty to declare rightful succession, weighing the nearness of kin and applying the law of preference as set forth herein.
- No claimant shall be crowned until the High Court hath rendered its judgment in accordance with this Amendment.
Closing
Thus is the Third Amendment to the Great Charter of Union sealed and proclaimed under King Magna Insula, that the throne of the Great Isle Union may never fall into dispute, that the line of Marius Insula endureth in blood, and that order and peace be maintained among the Isles.
Witnessed by the Royal Seal of King Magna Insula, and by the seals of the estates of Parliament, in the year of his reign and of our Lordship.
