By Word and Will of King Durrik Stonevein III, True King of Dwarf Island
Issued from the Hidden Hall of Hammerdeep, 460 C.E.
To all free dwarves of mountain, forge, and sea—
Let this be known, recorded, and spoken beneath every anvil and stone:
The recent decree issued by the so-called Federated Republic of Taupi, seeking to dissolve the Kingdom of Dwarf Island, is an unlawful, unjust, and dishonorable act. It was not sanctioned by the rightful monarch of this land, nor by its people, and it stands in direct violation of the Ancient Accords of the Three Crowns, signed in stone and sanctified by blood between the dwarves of Dwarf Island, the elves of Valeria, and the high dwarves of Tharn Dhûm.
These accords—still in force and upheld by the Crown of Valeria and the High King of the Deep Holds—declare that the sovereignty of Dwarf Island shall not be extinguished save by the will of its own people through unanimous clan consent, a process not invoked nor permitted under the foreign occupation now in place.
Taupi’s seizure of our mines, our banners, our temples, and our language is nothing short of cultural extermination by bureaucratic decree. Let no dwarf be deceived by talk of peace and order when the price is your history, your clanmarks, and your gods.
Therefore, as your king—not in name alone, but by oath and blood—I declare:
- The Federation’s decree is null and void under dwarven and elven law.
- All dwarves are hereby commanded and encouraged to resist, rebel, and undermine the occupying force by whatever means their conscience and honor allow.
- Those unable to take up arms or whose families are in danger are urged to flee to the Kingdom of Valeria, where our ancient allies shall offer protection and aid.
- Let our guilds work in secret. Let our hearths speak in whispers. Let our children remember who we are.
The mountain remembers. The forge waits. The stone does not yield.
Until the hammer falls again,
King Durrik Stonevein III
Rightful Sovereign of Dwarf Island
Protector of the Deep Ancestral Way
Signed beneath the Sigil of Stone and Fire
