Crystal Lotus

A peculiar flower that grows in wet environments, and can be found solely in the lands Nihon, it is perhaps the most popular crop to grow that side of the world.
Identifiable by the shifting and opalescent color of it's leaves, it can be seen in many standing bodies of water in the east. Sometimes even going so far as to choke out other forms of vegetation with it's exponential growth.
The reason the flower is so famous, however, is the high energy and nutritional content of the flowers large nectar, of which it stores large amounts of (for a flower at least, and enough to be successfully harvested by humans) in a large bowl-like structure formed by their many rows of leaves.
While they don't store very much, their production is constant, causing the pools the Lotus exist in to develop an oil like sheen to it. Like syrup mixed with water.
