Passing of Crown and Duty
The Passing is performed by one of the Mystics. In the history of Grandel Isle, only two Queens have passed their crowns on to their predecessors.
Bonding of Queen and Protector
A Mystic performs the Bonding. When completed, Queen and Protector wear a simple ring that, when he stands or lays to her right, they touch. They are a symbol of their unity, not of love, for not all Queens and Protectors fall in love. Regardless their bond is strong.
Duties
- Sustaining the Barrier that denies the Darkness entry to Grandel.
- She will make decisions to do with her situation.
- She helps guide the people of Grandel Isle.
- She has a daughter with her Protector, who will replace the Queen, who replaced her mother.
Responsibilities
- Feed the Barrier.
- Staying alive no matter who dies to ensure it.
- Birth a replacement.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
Queen's cannot be removed. Only death berings an end to their reign.
Cultural Significance
The Queen is for protection. Grandel Isle has been isolated from Earth, Majase, and the rest of the lands beyond the dragon island. The dragons, until Jacklyn's reign, had separated themselves from Grandelites.
