The Virelin
The northernmost of two rivers which converge into the Serpentine River, the Vireline serves as an essential trade-way for merchants and loggers. It is the lifeline of Frae's Northwoods.
It's frequented by human traders, furriers, loggers, and mercantile rafts.
Scattered along the river are small lumber camps, trade posts and halfling labor enclaves.
The terrain surrounding the river is still rugged, only partially cleared, and the river is dotted with rope bridges.
Common nicknames include The Vire or Logrun.
The name is derived from old trade-cant and elven syllables meaning "carrying vein" or "goods-flow."
