Mother Pela
Mother of the Riverbend Commune
A wizened halfling woman with deep brownish-gray curls, tied back under a cloth dyed in earthy indigos and turmeric yellow. Her features are creased with laugh lines and sun-weathered strength. She wears faded robes embroidered with tiny charms, wooden fishhooks, dried flower petals, glass beads like raindrops. She’s smoking a curved wooden pipe, its scent rich with clove, ash bark, and sweet banana leaf.
She carries the air of someone who was never free, but refused to bend. In her presence, people lower their voices, not because she demands it but because the silence around her is full of meaning.
Rumored to be associated with the Ashroot Concord.
