Smoulderling (Drow)

These strange beings were once Emberlings, who fought in the war against the races of the Voldrelm. Through deep Ingveldi magic, these poor wretched souls were fully shifted into this plane into which Xarafax brought them against their will, and made sentient and autonomous. From that point on they could choose to leave the service of Xarafax (which most of them did) but no matter their origin, they all shared the same dark skin colour. They were also impervious to cold as they had spent so much time being composed of fiery energy. The position of the Smoulderlings is somewhat contentious. Many view them with suspicion (as they were once Emberlings), but they are just trying to get by like everyone else. The Callenthi have sympathy for their plight and the Imperial Proctor is in the throes of trying to establish a society for their welfare. The Smoulderlings bear no racial connections to the recently arrived "elves" of Orosilme (Langtspids).
