Harrbyorg

The name Harrborg, in Farveldan, translates to "Sea Mountain". This large Farveldan territory measures about 250 miles across at its widest point, and is divided into two distinct regions. The wilder northern part of Harrbyorg, dominated by the Draagfell, tall, ominous mountains that are said to be haunted. Indeed, in Northern Harrbyorg, the superstitious coastal fisherman and other inhabitants do not venture inland, as the interior and the mountains are rumoured to be haunted and patrolled by fearsome beasts and monsters.   Souther Farveld is more civilized and is where the "capital" Kelgasker is to be found. This is where Duke Harald Kargard normally resides, when he is not away with his navy on some exploration mission or other (recently the Duke set out on such an unapproved mission to the seas south of the Reach, discovering an island which he promptly named after himself: Kargardia. He has been spending more and more time there, leaving various ministers in charge in his absence).   This island was populated many thousands of years ago, by a mainly human population who spread organically out here and founded their own nation. From the outset, they paid homage to the Callenthi Emperor and considered themselves a principality of the Empire, tithing to Cylestol. Harrbyorgians are seafaring by nature, and excel at battle on water. Indeed, everything to do with water is their forte. When they are forced into battle, which has happened in the past, they are fierce and brutal opponents. At times they are forced to defend their shores from ships coming from strange, unknown nations to the east of the Voldrelm. Far-flung nations such as the Kintar and others have attempted invasion at different times in the past and have been beaten back with ease by these sea-faring warriors.
