Dvergashtol

The Royal city fortress of Dvergashtol is home to the heimfolk king, currenty Fulgar Rockbeard, who many consider ineffectual. They feel that the Rockbeard line has faltered, become corrupted somehow, and that perhaps it is time for a new king. The king's brother Tybnar Rockbeard has been mooted as the one to succeed him. In secret, scholars of Viorheim and Felbrodir search the annals of genealogy for a surname they recognize, someone who might be worthy of taking the mantle of the new king. But many are against this. They say that the Rockbeard clan is in some ways all that is left of the old kingdom. The city of Dvergashtol is a feat of heimfolk engineering, a marvel of the modern world. Emperor Soliestas, when he was alive, visited here on many occasions, and declared it to be "The equal of Cylestol in every way. From an engineering standpoint, probably superior. From a military standpoint, the great city fortress appears utterly impregnable." Heimfolk wear this quote as a badge of pride.
