Festival of the Last Tide

The Festival of the Last Tide is Afiya’s most sacred and hauntingly beautiful tradition — a night when the ocean’s breath carries not only lanterns but spirits themselves. It is believed that on this night, Ilmos, god of nature and the hunt, permits the dead to walk the city once more, returning to their families to share in life before departing again. Lanterns of Amber Reedgrass are released into the waves, serving as glowing guides for these wandering souls, showing them the path home and, later, the way back to the sea. The festival is both a mourning of loss and a celebration of life renewed, where laughter and tears mingle freely along Afiya’s shore.
