Angru

Largely rural and agrarian, the Angru inhabit the North-East of the Empire within the Opal Grasslands. Largely focused on family and their obligations to the land, Angruians have been of little trouble to the Empire and considered docile. Despite this, the Angru have a large political role within the Empire due to being largely in control of the Empire's food supply and as a result see considerable protections put in place.   Although ethnically closer to those of the jungle, centuries farming the grasslands under the Empire's jurisdiction has seen the Angru differ greatly in customs to their ethnic cousins. Whilst the language of the Angru and those of the jungle is still legible between the groups, neither would consider the other related. Frequent raids and kidnappings from the jungle into Angruian lands further generates hostility between the groups.
