With the intervention of the adventuring party known as the Ruinlords, the Ritual of Ascension was once again foiled. Kyuss was trapped within the Black Obelisk, stripped of his power. The Obelisk was then absorbed into the Draconic Crucible and taken away by the priestess of Tynathria, Ardura Tor'lyn.

Kyuss’s near-ascension rippled across Golarion in ways most mortals only half understood: the sky flashed with a brief emerald aurora remembered as the Green Midnight, divine magic faltered as Pharasma’s Spire fell silent for a heartbeat, and countless sensitive minds shared the same Wormdream vision of a rising obelisk. Across necromantic hotspots, undead briefly stirred in confusion before collapsing again, while distant deserts saw long-cursed blight momentarily vanish. Three ancient artifacts across the world manifested and then shed a matching prophetic verse before crumbling, and for a minute even the greatest clerics felt their miracles resist them, as if the gods themselves looked away. Collectively, these phenomena formed the shared cultural memory of the day the world almost ended.
