Cyth-V'sug

Cyth-V’sug is an ancient terror of the Outer Rifts—older than nearly every demon lord now dwelling there. Spawned by the qlippoth lord Oaur-Ooung, he began existence as a qlippoth himself before the worship of desperate mortals twisted him into a true demon lord. His power centers on corruption, decay, parasitism, and the ravenous bloom of fungus across flesh and soil alike.

Identity and Nature

  Once reluctant to participate in the ancient demon–qlippoth war, Cyth-V’sug turned inward, destroying any who trespassed into his realm. Over time, as demonkind received mortal worship, he became curious—then hungry—for that same power. As he answered mortal prayers, desire crystallized within him. That intoxicating mortal emotion terrified his qlippoth kin, who attempted to destroy him. He fled upward into the Outer Rifts, shedding what he once was and becoming a full demon lord.   He remains a paradox: a demon lord still driven by qlippothic goals. His ultimate aspiration is the destruction of mortals, the starvation of demons, and the reclamation of the Outer Rifts by the qlippoth—even though achieving it would mean his own end.

Appearance

  Cyth-V’sug resembles a nightmare of rot and mycelium: a house-sized mass of oozing fungus, swollen tubers, and writhing tentacles. Claws jut from his form at unnatural angles, while a draconic, puff-eyed head rises from the mass. His teeth are jagged, broken spines that drip spores with every breath.

Goals and Ambitions

  Cyth-V’sug rules the fungal hellscape of Jeharlu, a plane-sized parasite that infects everything it touches. He seeks:

• To draw portions of the Great Beyond into Jeharlu’s corrupt domain.
• To blot out mortal life, extinguish sin, and render demons powerless.
• To return the Outer Rifts to qlippoth control—even at his own expense.

  He is relentless, ravenous, and patient in only the way fungi can be.

Cult and Worship

  Cyth-V’sug rarely forms organized cults. He does not crave followers—he craves worlds. Still, pockets of mortals serve him, usually as deranged individuals or isolated sects who view disease and infestation as divine truths.   His worshippers include:

• deros, drow, corrupted druids, alchemists, vegepygmy shamans, polluters, fungus-twisted dragons, and other beings fascinated or empowered by parasitic decay.

  His edicts encourage taint, rot, propagation of spores, and cannibalistic feasts upon fungus or carrion. His anathemas forbid purification, disease-curing, and cooperation with other demon lords (except his own offspring, Treerazer).   The Excresence   His “holy book” is a living tumor grown on a cultist’s body. It whispers scripture directly into their flesh. Copies that meet echo each other in eerie, harmonic unity—possibly fragments of a single greater mind.

Notable Sites of Influence

  Fangwood (Nirmathas)   Arlantia, a corrupted dryad and handmaiden to Gendowyn, opened a portal to Jeharlu using Treerazer’s relic, the *Spiteful Scimitar*. She ruled as the “Princess of the Blasted Heath,” spreading the Darkblight plague in hopes of becoming Cyth-V’sug’s bride.   Goroyasa (Tian Xia)   This island’s every living creature is infected by a hive-like parasitic fungus that grants strange powers but strips free will. The human “Slaves of Goroyasa” worship Cyth-V’sug, though the extent of his direct influence remains unknown.   The Worldwound   Before its closure in 4718 AR, Cyth-V’sug’s power thrived here. Frostmire Fen formed a nexus of fungus queens who served Enivuni, his greatest agent in the region. The Worldwound’s end significantly diminished his reach.   The Darklands   House Urdrinor’s drow tend massive fungus gardens in Yagasfanas, relying on Cyth-V’sug’s gifts. Deros and vegepygmies also turn to him in bouts of madness or desperation.

Relationships and Rivalries

  Cyth-V’sug despises other demon lords and rarely allies with them, though his followers may briefly cooperate with those of Urgathoa or Ghlaunder.   His greatest rival is Xhamen-Dor, another cosmic fungus whose parasitic ambitions mirror—and oppose—his own.   Treerazer   Treerazer is his most infamous offspring. Their relationship is contradictory:

• Treerazer attempted a coup and was exiled to Golarion in 2497 AR.
• Cyth-V’sug offered no further punishment, possibly signaling passive approval.
• Some fear an alliance between father and son—especially after Cyth-V’sug’s losses in the Fangwood and Worldwound.

  Such a union could doom Kyonin and reshape the entire region.

  Cyth-V’sug is an ancient, hunger-driven demon lord whose fungal dominion gnaws at the edges of the multiverse. Once a qlippoth, now a demon lord, he embodies corruption and parasitic rebirth. His followers are scattered, fanatical, and often monstrous, devoted to spreading rot in tribute to their master. His realm, Jeharlu, seeks to consume worlds—and he will stop only once hunger, mortals, demons, and the Outer Rifts themselves are reduced to a single, fungal whole.
