History

Sahuagin where created in -3400cr, by Sekolah in the elemental plane of water for the express purposes of having more creatures to help hunt living creatures. Sekolah hates other water based sentient creatures, and would send the Sahuagin to hunt and exterminate any other sea creature they found. Eventually, with the creation of the material plane, and the rumors of sea life forms living there, the Sahuagin and Sekolah went to the material plane's oceans to destroy those creatures. After a long war with the Tritons and Sea Elves from 100wr-900wr, Sekolah was banished into one of the layers of the abyss, and the Sahuagin where forced to surrender. During this entire time, Sahuagin learned their favorite food; Sea Elves. However, in 1400wr, they rebuilt their empire slightly, creating the city of Sh'ra'kr, their capital city currently being run by a Maw of Sekolah and a Baron Priestess named Brashrad. Here, they would enslave races they dislike, murder anyone that came close to them, and created the first Sahuagin that looked like a sea elf. Their empire has not moved much in the way of progress or fall, and even the Calamity event did not change them.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Sahuagin dislike all races. Specifically, Sahuagin are natural enemies with aquatic elves and Tritons, and to a lesser extend, Lizardfolk. Elves and sahuagin could not co-exist peacefully, and wars between them were often prolonged, bloody affairs that occasionally even interfered with shipping and maritime trade. Tritons have always fought Sahuagin, even in their creation. Sahuagin tolerated the lizardfolk much more than they did the elves. Exactly why the two races hated each other so much was unknown. They also hated the kuo-toa and the morkoth, though it was not unheard of for these races to ally.   Sahuagin's favorite food is Elf, however, Sahuagin also enjoy the taste of Tortle, Halfling, Genasi, and Locathah. Sahuagin's shark-like origins means they automatically enjoy eating the fish-men Locathah. Genasi, specifically Water, gives a unique taste to the Sahuagin that they enjoy. Sahuagin seem to enjoy Halfling meat because "Their fear makes them taste better than most." Sahuagin love the taste of Tortle meat, often explaining that their meat is a near perfect mix of Sweet and Meaty flavours.
