Basic Information

Anatomy

The Barubary has 2 large claws, 4 main legs, 2 digging legs, a 20 ft-long tail, a hard exoskeleton, and a meaty soft skin underneath the exoskeleton. Each claw has 4 talons, each leg is sharp and spike-like, and the tail ends in a pointed end.

Genetics and Reproduction

Barubary will randomly appear in the lower planes. Baby Barubary have been seen before, but it is unknown if Barubary need each other to reproduce, can reproduce asexually, or just spawn in the lower planes.

Growth Rate & Stages

Barubary grow incredibly fast, being considered adults at the age of 2 weeks. In order to grow, the Barubary must consume massive amounts of meat, where it will grow in size after each day. For reference of how much food is required for this process, the Barubary must eat 500 average sized, average weighted humans.

Ecology and Habitats

Barubary live best in dark places.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Barubary are Carnivores. Their favorite meat is Dragon Meat.

Additional Information

Social Structure

Barubary are solitary creatures, as once a Barubary grows into an Adult the Barubary will force it's offspring out of its lair.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Very few Barubary actually live on the Material plane, However, one is found on the continent of Godsen, and about 4 can be found in Ovak. Every other one is found in different layers of the Abyss.

Average Intelligence

Barubary are incredibly intelligent, being considerably smarter than most humans.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

The Barubary can see up to 210 feet in full darkness, and can also see through magical darkness.

Civilization and Culture

Naming Traditions

Barubary do not refer to themselves with names. As they rarely interact with each other, doing so would be considered redundant. They only ever go by Barubary.   The True names of the Barubary are completely unknown, if such a thing even exists.

Average Technological Level

Barubary very, very, VERY, rarely use weapons. They otherwise had invented nothing.

Major Language Groups and Dialects

Barubary can speak any language, and tend to use their telepathy to talk to single targets.

Common Etiquette Rules

A Barubary only greets a creature that Challenges them. Their Greeting is more of a war cry, as they release a guttural screech that can be heard across a country. They rarely fight creatures that do not rescind such challenges, though demons and yugoloths are never challenged, only eaten.

Culture and Cultural Heritage

In an extremely bizzare twist of fate, all Barubary seek one thing: fear. They wish to fear something more powerful than them. It is somewhat common for Barubary to worship Demon Lords like gods, as they fear them.

Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals

Barubary accept all challenges, regardless of who offers them. If beaten, unless the Barubary is killed, they will usually make a deal with the winner. They do not do this to save themselves from death, instead doing so to reward the victor with something the Barubary could do. If the creature loses, however, the Barubary will do one of two things; either the Barubary would give an ultimatum to the creature to get more powerful, usually up to 50 years, if they believe that the creature could give them fear. Otherwise, they kill the creature, and eat them.   A Barubary can challenge any number of creatures, as long as the creatures are linked in the current situation. Many times, a Barubary would challenge one leader to a company of Devils. Due to how a Barubary works, it killed everyone.

Common Taboos

When two Barubary meet, they are forced to fight each other to death, it's in their nature. Denying a challenge to duel from another Barubary is a horrifying prospect, and are heard by every Barubary, which usually ends in the denier's death. These Honor Hunts are one of the rare times many barubary are found near eachother.

History

The first Barubary seen was mistaken for being a demon, but instead it is a naturally spawning creature in the fiendish depths of the evil planes. Their functions seems to be an equalizer against many of the fiends, as they are found in all of the lower planes, and almost exclusively consumes other fiends. During the War of Color, Dragons would be attacked by Barubary both in the upper and lower planes. These attacks where few and far between, and by only 1 Barubary at a time, but these attacks would end up killing hundreds of dragons. The barubary would stop appearing in the upper planes once the war ended, and were almost believed to be myths created by devils to scare creatures away from the deepest depths of hell.    The first Barubary to appear onto the Material Plane was in 1999wr, when a Demon Cult of Fraz-Uurb'luu had attempted to summon a demon in their time of need, when paladins had been tearing down their defences and had planned to kill them. Fraz-Uurb'luu would send a Barubary that he had found to their cave, and it killed everyone. It still lives in that cave. Another notable time when a Barubary was involved was in Baphomets attempt at usurping the Material Plane in 2277wr. While the Demon Lord's invading army would rush through the portal, a single Barubary would walk through, causing panic amongst the mortals. It would challenge one foolish knight, allowing it to fight every soldier it saw wreaking havoc for both demons and mortals alike, until it was killed by Bearthous Indomitable Garthrox, saving a Greg Fatcher.   In 2089wr, a Barubary had been caught in the effects of the Calamity event, absorbing Limbostuff into its body, and mutating. The beast had grew two extra claws, a second tail, and has it's whole body covered in exoskeleton. This one Barubary, called Deathevan, would begin a cult dedicated to it, to begin causing

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Barubary, like all Fiends, are hated by just about everything, especially Demons and Yugoloths. The Barubary's Honorary nature rarely extends to demons, as the chaotic nature of the demons will never allow the fiends honor. Yugoloths attack barubary on sight, seeing them as competition in the demon war, with Barubary allways trying to kill Yugoloths.   Dragons specifically hate Barbury, since Barbury have a bizarre ability of getting more powerful when fighting a Dragon.

AAHAHAHA HAAHAAAaa *gasp* aAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAhAhAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.   ...Oh, y-your serious. Well, in 2311wr, a Baubary from Ovak, who goes under the pseudonym Riu, had become an "Adventurer." He had done so because a child had wandered into his cave, and talked about the scary monsters Adventurers had faced, which intrigued Riu. He now "Adventures" around Ovak, exploring caves and ruins alone to find something that would bring them fear.
