Introduction to Godai

"Godai is a world in flux, You live in the greatest Kingdom on its surfaces, You here to learn about the people, and the cultures of Godai, to prepare you for you life going forward"
— Teshiro, A Master of the Imperial University
The world of Godai is a world in flux, bleeds from the elemental planes, appearance of the Elves after thousands of years of being away from the Material Plane, to the rise of Usul the new Divine God. Civilisation survives purely but the strength of will of the people of the Kingdoms. Many areas of the world are left to the wilds and elemental forces found in them, and the areas of civilisation are split across the world by wildlands and oceans.
Godai is a world of five continents and many islands, With many cultures that are effected by planes, but for now the focus is on Mizuka with the Crane Imperium to the south and the Urugoth Expanse to the north, and the heartlands within the centre of the continent. There also many visitors from other Kingdoms on the world that travel to the Crane Imperium, to learn at the University or one of the many Academies of Martial or Magic teaching.

People of Godai

The races of Godai are far reaching ranging from groups from the elemental planes that stay after the wars, and those people created by the Divine Gods before the war, and survived afterwards.

Kingdoms, Continents, and Oceans

Azuth
A continent of mountains and forests, within the centre of the mountains is the Master Gate of Earth is hidden within the deep vaults of the Stone Deeps.
Goshin
The largest continent, with a spine of mountains down the centre and rolling planes both north and south. To the north is the ruined cities of the old kingdom of Kalesh, and in the forests to the south east is the Aukeryn Dynasty, those who stay true to the Elements when the others fell to the Divine.
Heshin
The Fire Gate is found on Heshin and that affects the lands for hundreds of miles around it, but most of the continent is pleasant plains and savannahs to the east and west, with forests to the south.
Mikazu
Mikazu is the smallest of the continents of Godai, it starts on the equator and goes down into the southern hemisphere so is generally warm but wet. And suffers from monsoons and storms acrossing the continent from both east and west.
Urish
The Divine's home in ancient times, either now those living on it seem a bit strange to the rest of peoples of Godai.

Oceans

The Great Ocean
The Ocean between the 5 continents, with Mikazu to the south, Goshin and Heshin the West and Uruish and Azuth to the north, it is the most travelled part of the water, few people dare to sail west from Uruish and Mikazu to find the eastern shores of Hesh and Goshin. most use the many small islands on the Great Ocean's edge to keep land in sight as much as they able.
The Dark Ocean
East of Uruish and Mikazu and West of Heshin and Goshin, this sea is thousands of miles wide with no islands or protection that any captain as found, few dare to cross it and fewer succeed.

The People of the Planes

There a number of races which are rarely seen within the Mortal Plane of Godai, but do show up occasionally, these are.
GM Note: These races are not normally avaiable to players, talk to Enazel before making plans to use one of these species. If you got an interesting story idea, then I sure we can make it work.

The Godlike

The Primodial
The Primordial Titans that removed the yoke of the divine so called gods of Godai, from all its people are now celebranted and worshipped as the great beings they are. The 4 Titans Achazar, Akadi, Istishia, and Grumbar are the greater primoridals, and the seen by the People of Godai as the deliverers from the yolk of the gods, we are forever grateful to them.
Fae Courts
The Elves don't exactly worshipped the kings and queens of the Fae Courts, but they do borrow power from the Maiden, Mother and Crone along with the King of both courts. and as such they definitely have a level of godhood, but in a strange way that only the Fae could.
The Divine
The prophets of the divine have travelled the lands for the last 30 years, no one sure where they came from or why now. But they do show some signs of diving powers, but could just be good charlatans. The prophets come from most races and cultures from across the world, and the preach about "The One" also known as Usul, just the singlar god that will bring light back to the world.

Magic of Godai

The world is full of Elemental Magic, as well as left over Divine and strange magic of the Fae. You in a world that is forever shifting and changing because of that magic. It is part of daily life, and most people born in Godai are affected by it (check Born of the Elements) for more info.   But as a player in Godai, there a few things you need to be aware of.
Healing
Healing in Godai isn't 100% succesful as it is worlds you may have been too before, in Godai, healing magic can only mend things that have happened in the last 10 minutes, if you loose a limb and you don't have a Cleric, Druid or Paladin around you better make friends with an friendly Artificer to make you a magitech replacement.   Resurrection, Revivify works every time all the time, but anything beyond that isn't a guaratee and requires a level of magic and connection to the soul you trying to return. Bar Revivify Spell, all resurrection spells can only be cast as a ritual, friends and family of the soul being requested to return can help in the ritual by offering up something to help the caster in contact and appealing for the soul to come back to them.
