They are currently hiding in Volga's kitchen because they know Volga won't come there as Volga never eats.

Treasurer is knows that Volga's Treasury just contains some coins, but not any of any currency they know. These coins are incredibly precious to Volga, and depict a bleeding eye. Apparently they were given to Volga by incredibly important friend.
