Personal history
Otto was the ice spirit of Hebra, dedicated to protecting the Hebra peaks and watching over the Zonai of that region. The Zonai of the hebra region wanted to live peacefully, so they entered an agreement with Hyrule to train their mages in exchange for supplies and neutrality in the war. This lead to Shinzo/Magnus being trained by the Zonai there, and personally tutored by Otto, who saw great potential in him.
Later, the Zonai of the region were revisited by Shinzo. He built for them the palace of winds, which floated high above Hyrule. Otto went with them. However, this escape and commitment to peace angered the other Zonai tribes, so they summoned Culdwen to terrorize them. Unfortunately, Culdwen utterly destroyed them.
Shinzo later came to defeat Culdwen. He used Otto as a spirit weapon to seal the demon away.

Speech
- I was a spirit that watched over the Zonai tribe of the Hebra region. The Zonai were a barbaric tribe-- by hylian standards, anyway. They favored the warrior spirit. Their leader was always the most powerful mage; The title of chieftain was always won by magical duel. However, isolated in the harsh Hebra region, this group of Zonai were growing tired of the barbaric customs. Slaying beasts, taming lynels, proving one’s power by joining a few battles in the civil war as occasional mercenaries… it all seemed wasteful and reckless to this tribe. Every set of hands lost was, after all, a set of hands that could not hunt for food or raise a child. The tribe wanted to live peacefully, and even more so, they wanted to escape the harshness of Hebra. So, at my request, the Hebra Zonai made a deal with the king of Hyrule. They would train Hyrule’s best mages and promised their faction wouldn’t engage in the civil war. In exchange, Hyrule would send food and other essentials to the Hebra Zonai.
- Hyrule sent several mages to Hebra, but most did not have the aptitude for Zonai magic. One Hylian distinctly did, though, and his name was Shinzo. He was very young, much younger than the other mages. When I saw his skill, I personally decided to tutor him in secret, away from the tribe. I helped him get the basics of Zonai magic down, but it didn’t take him long before his own skill surpassed mine and that of his Zonai friends. Hhmmm… now that I think about it, he and I had a little nook in the mountains where we practiced and where Shinzo built many magical objects. I wonder if it’s still there? (Witch's Broom)
- Years later, long after he had completed his training, Shinzo came to me. I almost didn’t recognize him as much time had passed. He explained that he had received orders from the crown to either negotiate or force the Zonai to aid Hyrule against its rebels. However, knowing that the Hebra Zonai were sick of fighting, he disobeyed his orders. He planned to help the Hebra Zonai achieve the life they always had wanted. He had developed magic that could give them mastery of the wind and sky. He also had designed a structure that could take the Zonai’s current palace and float it high above the region, free from the wars in Hyrule, where they could live peacefully. He and the Zonai worked to build the structure and learn the necessary magics.
- When the structure was complete, it was named “the palace of winds” and the Hebra Zonai renamed themselves to “the wind tribe”. I went with the tribe to the sky. I figured it would be nice getting to watch over Hebra from far above. Unfortunately, though, the other Zonai tribes were not so keen on losing a tribe to pacifistic ways. The other tribes summoned a terrible monster to terrorize the wind tribe. I suspect they were trying to show the Hebra Zonai that pacifism was not possible, but the beast was so overwhelming that it threatened to annihilate the entire tribe. We sent a message to Hyrule’s king to receive aid, but… before any aid showed up, the people were all killed.
- When aid did finally come to the Palace of Winds, the people were as spirits, still cowering in fear from the beast that took residence. The only aid we received was the king of Hyrule himself… which turned out to be Shinzo. Shinzo was furious that day. He said that our letters to receive aid were refused because he was laying siege to hyrule castle at that time, so the previous king did not have troops that could be spared. Shinzo fought with sheer furry that day. He sealed me into that weapon and then used my weapon and his own to strike down the beast. He set up a seal that held back the monster using me. However, the spirits of the palace still remained. Also, I've remembered now that Shinzo gave me a pearl, which seems to be missing, and told me to remember a phrase, but… I can’t seem to recall it in full. All I remember is: paths through the reflections.
