Kana is missing Sumrak is inside the dungeon The children entered the dungeon from the lake in the Necluda mountains, Kana found them before they were torn apart for their "resources" Children are with Kana for protection and so Kana can help them recover their illness (an illness she was sure the people of Hyrule had forgotten how to treat) Constructs are out of the dungeon looking for resources to repair themselves Kana was supposed to guard the entrances *and* ensure that Kakariko continued to bury its dead near those entrances The entrances move based on the phase of the moon   Kakariko, once upon a time, made sure their grave sites, and the royal family tomb, were entrances to "Shinzo's Home". The dead buried their were supposed to sustain those in Shinzo's Home. This was a tradition that the Sheikah eventually forgot their reason for, and later stopped doing entirely.   Kana was, according to the constructs inside, supposed to give them the resources they need to maintain themselves. Kana was actually instructed to guard the entrances and make sure no one entered. Guarding the seal on the place.   Sumrak broke through that seal. Shinzo's home moves about according to the moon phase, so when Sumrak broke the entrance's seal at a pool beloved by Hateno's children, they found themselves in the crypt. Kana, though, was near the entrance, investigating the seal's break, and so she heard their screams when other constructs attacked the children. She saved them, but they had already been exposed to an illness that she would need to cure. As such, Kana takes the children to a ruin, and locks herself there with them, nursing them back to health.   In the mean time, some of the constructs escape. Notably, UNNAMED, 3SV, 8D, and 10S. UNNAMED and 3SV are small and weak, just looking for mechanical bits. 10S hunts down other constructs to repair herself, and has done exactly that to 8D, who now sits mangled and frozen at the Shrine of Wisdom. In anger, 10S is hunting down Kana, who she feels failed her role, both regarding the lack of resources, and protecting the entrance.   In the crypt, Sumrak is severely damaging the more powerful constructs that are attacking him. 10S's anger partially comes from this as Sumrak a) is destroying resources and b) has killed her friends.
