I was asked if there would ever be a telesonic code. I said, yes haven't you heard? It's called "shouting"— Magi Timmas
The Telephotic code was created by Magi Timmas after perfecting the art of changing the color of a lantern's flame and fitting a snappable cover that allow the user to cause a 'flash' of light. Timmas then devised the Telephotic Code to assist in sending messages: as time has gone, this code has been adapted into other uses as well.
The Telephotic Code was originally developed with Mercian in mind, hence the associated to the twenty-six letters of the Mercian Alphabet, but some other Olivian Languages have their own translation.
Requirements
The Telephotic Code requires three lanterns, lit with a different color flame, and with the capacity to flash each lantern separately. Each lantern should be a line either horizontal or vertical (the Elpan Eyries use vertical configurations mostly). The lanterns are also required to hold their flash for either a long period or a short period.
Translation to the Mercian Alphabet
The following tables use the following method for transcribing a Telephotic Letter; there are three characters. X indicates a blocked light, I a short flash and O a long flash. If there is a long flash, the long flash is held until the short flash is made. Between letters, all lanterns will go dark (XXX)
