Child of Ninth Halo

Written by Sirjwinsalot

"The Child of Ninth Halo is the pseudonym for the mysterious figure at the change of the age. The Shattering and subsequent Reformation of Gigornous caused numerous complications to the cosmos. The Child or Children of Ninth Halo if you believe some accounts, is a remarkable resemblance to Jenna Darkwing. Many of the first theorists proposed they were the same person. This could be true. I hesitate to make such an assertion.    The Child of Ninth Halo's birth was rumored to be at the moment of the Shattering yet Jenna was born sixteen to twenty-five years earlier according to more authentic documents. This fact is what developed into the Children theory. The Child is supposed to save the world. The Reformation could qualify as saving the world. The Shattering could fulfill the prophesy of destruction as well. The heretic, Reju, respected by Arle, prophesied two destructions. Reju maintained this to his deathbed despite the more orthodox interpretations ruining of his reputation amongst his peers.   Two destructions could mean two Children or even more. It would have to for Ailu is no more as is Shilvarin. The Child of Ninth Halo has to have emerged before the Reformation yet there are fullfillments in today's era that cannot be denied easily. Now we come to the crux of my dilemma. I must find the truth. If there is only one then our future is guaranteed. If not, then the world may yet live. Fate it seems has a sense of humor."

  • Summary

"The Nazdria shall open his hand. Only Ninth Halo shall remain. Child of one and many, Shatterborn of name. The unity is strong, unbound by time. So shall (it) be, yet quick to be forgotten overshadowed by the last light."

    Cultural Reception

Elven cultures such as Vuelsia or Chalicet considered it to be a literal prophesy of the end of the world. The Vuelsian elves perceived it as a fixed event and decided to obssess over profits and mercantilism to live the best life for themselves before the Shattering could come. The Chalicet generally received it as a possible outcome and began a quest for military supremacy in order to prevent such an outcome. This backfired when the Tirin Emperor made Vuelsia Chalicet into one of it's fourteen provinces. The Chalicet went into hiding as their religion was persecuted heavily by those of the Calri Asendancy. The country was renamed to merely Vuelsia. Many Chalicet abandoned their faith and became Beiradi or Cherundi dragons and were hunted down for supporting Jal Izid and Calavent. The others hid in Datris and other provinces, hoping to convert in secret.   The Calri were brutal and efficient. There would be no stopping the Ascendancy. Datris, Dest, and Aldre were the last provinces to pledge loyalty to the Tirin Emperor, and it was no secret that the enmity between the countries was stoked by Chalicet rebels.
