Uncle Sam
VIGILANTE
Samuel Liberty (a.k.a. Uncle Sam)
Samuel Liberty (aka Uncle Sam) was one of the three original meta-humans created for the Government Hero Program after WWII. Originally part of a Vigilante team known as Happiness Trio, Liberty was an inspiring symbol during the Vietnam War, saving presidents from assassins, and defeating the Russian supervillain Atomic Bomb, effectively winning the Cold War for America. He was an icon.
However, after the disbanding of the Happiness Trio, Liberty joined with The Board, and slowly revealed an insidious callousness and an alarming disregard for the fallout of his actions. Belieiving himself to be invincible, he fought one-on-one with a colossal mutant plant, which chomped him up and left him in literal pieces.
In an appalling display of misdirected resources and incompetence, the US government chose not to let their once shining symbol of hope perish. Utilizing tissue reanimation through electrical engineering by Julian Bell, he was stitched back together and reanimated. Devoid of his brain, the resurrected Uncle Sam is now a mindless abomination, continuing to perpetrate acts of callousness alongside The Board.
