Enthrallment

Enthrallment is a magical effect caused by heavy use of the Enthrall spell. There are multiple stages of enthrallment, each one causing the victim to loose more and more of their personality and induviduality.

Symptoms

The process of enthrallment completley removes all autonomy and individuality from a victim. They will respond only to the commands of their master, or someone the master designates as an order giver. They will obey the commands of their master with no hesitation.   All seft preservation insticts are lost, and the vicim becomes incapable of feeling emotions. However, they can still feel pain and exhaustion.   The eyes of a person who is enthralled look white and lifeless regardless of species.

Prognosis

The process of enthrallment is irreverible. The mind of a vicim is completely altered and warped to the point that even if they completly loose the capacity to act as an individual. Any traces of who the vicim was before the process are erased, essentially rendering them as a mindless automoton who can only carry out orders.

History

As the Fourth Draconic Crusade became a stalemate, the Draconic Imperium was taking increasingly heavy losses. General Raathnar knew full well that if his army kept loosing warriors at this pace, he would be bled dry.   That's when he had an idea: the populace of occupied zones was either killed or enslaved. Rather than just putting them to menial work, he could have his bets mages come up with a way to convert these slaves into loyal cannon fodder to throw at Republican lines.   The end result was the enthrallment spell and the process of crushing the psyce of those who have the spell cast on them.   Ever since, battle thralls have been a key component in Imperial units.
