Though they were once a unified office, the Steward's Scepter and Sorenian Throne were seperated into distinct titles and offices during the Je'thor Reformations. In the biggest example of the unravelling of these reforms, Empress Maelyrra V seizes the Steward's Scepter from the 85-year old Kardolaì Èjein III, claiming they are too young, having not yet completed their Törn'kèu ritual.
