Enzimian Sanhedrin
The Enzimian Sanhedrin, known originally as simply The Sanhedrin (Varaso: Lo Sanhedrin, /lʊ sɐˈɲedrĩ/), is the sovereign governing body of the Free City of Enzim and the highest religious authority of Orthodox Furanism. It is composed of 23 judges or clerics. In modern times, it has little actual secular authority, with most authority lying with the emperor. While the body is theoretically vested with various legislative and judicial powers, it acts mostly as a rubber stamp for the emperor and the executive. The body is also responsible for the election of emperors, though, again, this function is largely a rubber stamp, as every emperor over the last 175 years has been elected from the hereditary house of Exera.
