Arps

The arps are an Arpid race descended from or closely related to gaunt-men and more distantly related to elves native to southwestern Tira Vella, living along the western coast up into the Central Plateau. They likey came up from the Underdark into the Unilangan Highlands sometime in the first few centuries CA. They first came into regular contact with the humans of the island in the early 17th century. They remain a rare sight in human Tira Vella, and a rarer sight outside the island.   They rely substantially on herding and hunting. Their religious beliefs are largely animistic and shamanistic. They believe in a creator figure called Uachmüzöl, and that they were created before the sun, explaining their physical adaptations from their time underground.   They have gaunt figures and long, slender arms, and small beady eyes; their skin is sickly pale, often with a slight green or blue tint. They have thin white hair. Supernumerary digits are very common (6 fingers). Their appearance alone often makes people wary of them.   They are longer-lived than humans, reaching maturity around 20–23, and living on average about 1⅓ times as long as humans.
