Several of the Noble houses tried to force a change. Key word: Tried. Of the half dozen families that rebelled only a handful of members survived

Several Noble houses from Sirendel rose up against the King and--more importantly--against the Church in protest against the heavy taxes that were being levied against them.     Within a month, the Church brought in soldiors from all around and had the families exicuted. Those that were allowed to live had their lands taken from them and given to others
