They are likened to mages, all Azurians can write with magic with or without speaking, they are artists, and their art can be animated (they can make it animated or not only on the paper, wood, metal, gem, material like cloth, wool, leather etc. or even a plant leaf but once the leaf dies the art/animation is gone). A special ink is needed, but the magic innate. They are also skilled historians and scholars that Tribes throughout Genivan desire, all Tribes can read and write but one common legend through the world of Genivan is that Ruinia introduced language to all the Saharian peoples. Azurians have records of all languages written in dictionaries (all dialects too, except Naga). They have the largest collection of ancient scrolls, histories, poetry, fiction writings (basically the greatest libraries of all written works on Genivan) except the scrolls from the Land of Lithe and many Azurian scholars believe the Eons are hiding more scrolls from Aura and Demora (this is a major contention between Eons and Azurians). Clerics and Primes are the most common sent to other lands to gather scholastic materials, Eons rarely allow an Azurian within their lands.
