The Foilekokra Tribe

The Foilekokra, children of the wilds, are an indigenous people who lived for generations in their isolated lands, far from all foreign influence.
The tribe's sacred lands are protected by ancient magic and its people have attuned to it over the years, building a unique society and culture based upon it.
The magic is wild and unyielding, for the Great Spirits grant their gifts only to those who are worthy.

Structure

The tribe has always been a matriarchal society, ruled by the seven Magistrates, or "magistas", chief among them is the "bedera".

History

After yukiko visited and took kiara back to camelot, sawina, kiara's mother who was bedera at the time fell ill, attempts to contact kiara failed and her mother died a few months later. during that time of leaderless turmoil, the old magista lawisha took over the tribe in an official capacity, alongside the small council that adviced sawina, including her brother secaryo and kiara's intended.
About a month after sawina's death baba beara came to the tribe accompanied by the guide spirits who have allied with morgana, they offered the foilekokra a way to fight for their lands, and retrieve kiara from camelot (who was assumed kidnapped) as well as revealing the alleged merlinian nature of the curse that took sawina's life.
When kiara made her way back, after 9 months in camelot, tensions were high, but all were happy to see her. She was requested to take her role as bedera and accept the guiding spirits. vigilant and suspicious Kiara was faced with the supposed spirit of the wolf, but found that she did not recognise it as the same spirit she had awoken, rejecting it's blessing and it's calls for war against the merlinian order. The decision to not fight and try to find a different way split the tribe like never before, and a group led by secaryo took the wolf's blessing swearing to fight and destroy their would be opressors, even if it meant banishment.
These 50 men and women, about a quarter of the tribe, became lycans, imbued with the wolf spirit of savagery and left the tribe, to fight alongside morgana's forces to protect the tribe...

Demography and Population

Children hold an important place within the foilekokra culture, with them being raised by the whole tribe and viewed as the future of the clan, they are taught to hunt and partake in manifacturing at an early age, and the guardianship of a child is considered both a great honor and a heavy duty.
Originaly the foilekokra numbered around 200-300 souls, however after the events of kiara's acendance to bedera and the creating of the wolf pack, they lost about a quarter of their numbers, all adults, leaving them weakened.

Military

The foilekokra had no standing army in their history, only protecting their lands, however after the creation of secaryo's pack him and his pack swore to fight on the tribe's behalf, with or without the bedera's blessing. They left the tribe and now plan to fight to protect it from whatever threat they precieve.

Foreign Relations

The foilekokra, like many other magical communities, were isolated for a millenium, however, in the modern day they are seen as another threat by the merlinians, who wished to contain their magics.
However, upon the request of yukiko musashi, the tribe has been given a chance, by sending kiara to camelot to learn of the order's ways, they may be allowed to remaing as guardians of the forest if she is found worthy of such responsibility.
this ultimatum has caused a divide within the tribe, some of which refused to bow to these outsiders and their demands, a divide that eventually led to the split in the tribe which saw secaryo's pack leave the tribe to fight alongside the morganians.

Mythology & Lore

The Great Spirits

The great spirits are protectors and guides to the tribe, seen as manifestations of the will of the wild they are sacred to the ways of the foilekokra, blessing the tirbe members with their gifts. It is beleieved that the spirits carry the souls of those chosen by them after they die, preserving the memory of all tribe members who lived through the ages, and enshrining them with the glow of the     The Great Spirit of the Bear Kylas - Tribe members who are marked with the rune of the Great Bear serve as the tribe's hunters and warriors, sworn to protect and defend the tribe. Kylas was the youngest and weakest amongst the spirits, always anxious and somewhat obsessive he has grown into his own (both physicaly and mentaly) with the tutelage of Artio, the mother of bears who made the young spirit fiercer then ever during her stay with the tribe.
The Great Spirit of the Hawk Melarius - Tribe members who are marked with the rune of the Great Hawk serve as the tribe's scouts and explorers, surveying and guarding the land. Melarius was the companion to Kalitha, the first bedera, and thus holds a special bond to her decendants and other bederas. he is the most directly involved with the tribes affairs, standing as a guide to the bedera.
The Great Spirit of the Raven Torwacken - Tribe members who are marked with the rune of the Great Raven serve as councilors and advisors to the magistas, and hold vast knowledge of the tribe's oral history, lore, and magical abilities. Torwacken has always been a proud trickster, mostly amusing itself by solving the problems presented by the tribe. After the gathering when Kiara took the title of bedera and banished most of the outside spirits, torwacken left as well, wishing to exact vengence against ulrich von everac who conned him before and untether himself from human responsibility to live wild and selfish lives once more.
The Great Spirit of the Snake kerr'ash- Tribe members who are marked with the rune of the Great Snake serve as the tribe's healers. Kerr'ash was always apathetic towards the humans of the tribe, lending them his powers but caring little for their daily lives, he only took his responsibilities as healer seriously, prefering to limit his interaction with the tribe to the sick.
The Lost Spirit of the Wolf Sahari- In ancient times it is said that the wolf was a mark of wilderness and savagery, only granting it's mark to the boldest members of the tribe. In reality, alongside being the boldest, the wolf is also the mark of those who attempt to try and reach out to those different and ignorant of the ways of the wild, similar to how the wolf is a pack hunter who may join man in the hunt, thus the wolf is the spirit of diplomacy, lost to time and the mutespell after it's marked revealed themselves to the world centuries ago when a disaster swept the lowlands.
When Kiara plunged into the fires during her ceremony she has jostled the slumbering spirit for the first time, who sent her artemis, a companion to help her through the coming turmoil. Then, when faced with the wolf of vengence Iritech, Kiara recognised him as a different being from Sahari, awakening the white wolf fully by once again jumping into the fires and calling for the tribe's unity and peacefull ways. Blessing both the new bedera and her companion, Sahari spoke to the tribe for the first time in decades, presuading most of them to not go on a warpath, splitting the tribe.

The Morganian Spirits

After the death of sawina, baba baera, a shapeshifting hag was sent by morgana to speak to the tribe, with her she carried 4 spirits, brought to bolster and teach the local spirits in preperation for a war with camelot, hoping to gain their support in the conflict. The spirits themselves were mostly displaced ancient english ones with their own agendas who has joined with morgana on her crusade.
The Merrow The spirit of rivers, totem of fish he has been a trickster and drowner in his old home, fighting alongside the morgana and her allies for decades before the mutespell, he seeks relief from the long fight, enjoying the colder climate and clean rivers of the area. He is the only one to stay and help the tribe protect themselves after Kiara banishes the others aside from the tribe's lands. Him and his companion merrow posses a nullifying croack that can thwart a merlinian's magic and push them off balance, making traditional casting difficult or even impossible, making them valuable allies against such a force. His loyalty to the Archfey is the most consistant of the spirits, wishing to free his master, but his lazy nature drew him away from the fight.
The Puca A spirit of lost things and forgotten places, the Puca is a master tactician, fighting the merlinians for his own amusement. He volenteered to join the mission to the foilekokra hoping to find a new board on which to play his war games. Both him and his shapeshifting spawn are capable of spying and posses a keen tactical sense, making for good generals, and with his spawn joining warriors in the field, he has eyes everywhere. The puca was one of the archfey's close advisors and when It's master was trapped it's loyalty waned, starting to think mostly of his own amusement. The puca was banished by bidere Kiara at the end of the tribal summit, while disapointed with the lack of fighting in the northern front, he is quite excited to return to the front line with his new lupine allies.
Artio, Mother Of Bears Artio is an ancient spirit, worshiped as the mother of bears, despite not giving the foilkokra much heed, she has come to guide her children in preparation for war, enhancing the local bear totemic spirit kylas and helping him grow into his own. Artio is the least devoted to the archfey, caring mostly for her cubs and the bears themselves, she does not give spirit animals to the tribe, but enhances the bear's spirit making them noticeably larger and with sharper claws and fangs. After the summit Kiara requested that Artio stays with kylas, to which the bear mother accepted but for only 3 moons, until her cub can take care of itself, after which she'll leave to help her other children.
Iritech, The Vengefull Wolf A lupine spirit of the irish countryside, in the years since the mutespell's breaking he has been working with the morganians who awoke him to preserve the wild magic of his countryside, he has been sent to deceive the foilekokra as the spirit of the wolf returned. He is the spirit of vengeance and savagery, seeing the slumbering Sahari as a weakling who would bow before humanity. He offered his guardianship and blessing to Kiara at the eve of her coronation, upon which recognizing his violent nature, Kiara refused. Calling for peace and diplomacy angered Iritech as well as parts of the tribe, and when secaryo stood up to oppose her decision, he was chosen by Iritech, who blessed the hunter and made him into a hulking half wolf half man. with the tribe divided, 50 men and women went with Iritech and formed his pack, led by secaryo himself, they swore to fight viciously against the merlinians in order to protect their spirits and home.

At the end of Kiara's rise to the leadership position 6 spirits remain with the tribe, Kerra'sh, Kylas, Melarius, Merrow Artio and the newly ressurected Sahari.

Tenets of Faith

The Great Spirits are mythical creatures of unfathomable power and knowledge. They are also keen, unpredictable and incredibly independent, and sometimes make bizarre decisions which can be taken as whimsies.
They are the guiding light of the Foilekokra People, and upon reaching the age of maturity, each tribe member undergoes the sacred Rite of Passage.   The Rite Of Passage   The rite of passage is conducted every year for tribe members who have reached the proper age.
They are gathered together by the tribe's Magistrates and each is judged by the Great Spirits.
If they are deemed worthy of body, mind, and spirit, they are granted the Mark of a Great Spirit, a place within the tribe, and a spirit animal, for companionship and guidance.
