The planet on which the continent of Chronan circles the Sun is most often called simply "the World" in the common tongue, although astronomers prefer to use the draconic translation Terrous. It has one satellite, the Crescent Moon, which was fractured into a broken three-quarters of a sphere in the Fellstar cataclysm some thousand years ago when the meteorite struck it before striking the world.   For the people of Chronan, little is known about the continents beyond the four oceans - Mare Tempestas to the north, Mare Mediator to the east, Mare Crystallum to the south and Mare Ardere to the west. "The Wound of the World", the massive crater left behind by The Fellstar, lies on the other side of the globe from Chronan, which is why the civilization on the continent was the first to recover from the catastrophe. The lands around the crater are collectively known as the Shattered Continent, for the impact broke the continent far beyond its original shape and wiped most of the nations there. There is another continent across the oceans, where ancient elves once founded "the Land of New Home", Alvanystria, but that culture was destroyed by dragons.   The Chronanese astronomers have discovered five other planets in the Solar System, and named them after the mythical solar, celestial servants of the Gods of Time and Order. The one closest to the sun is Metathrone, named after the angel who was said to herald the dawn of civilization. The second is the bright Dominas, who was the solar angel of vengeance who lead the heavenly host into the first war with the devils. Third is Virtus, named after the angel who is said to look after the innocent and the pure of heart. Fourth planet is Potestam, for the angel who gives mortals the strength to believe. And the fifth one furthest from the Sun is named after Archë, the feared angel of death. According to calculations, the World is on an orbit parallel to all the other planets, theorized to be because of the meteorite.
