There has always been people whose eyes are drawn towards the open skies, and ever since the invention of
airships, those people have had a way to fulfill their dreams of soaring like birds. However, to be a true aviator does not mean simply piloting a vessel, it means your heart belongs to the sky. Aviators are rangers of the atmosphere, drawing magic from the winds and the clouds to fly and soar.
Aviator Features
3rd level: Sky Magic, Avian Slayer, Skybound
7th level: Sky-legged
11th level: Wings of Wonder
15th level: Winds of Fury
Sky Magic
Starting at 3rd level, you learn an additional spell when you reach certain levels in this class. The spell counts as a ranger spell for you, but it doesn't count against the number of ranger spells you know.
3rd level: fog cloud
5th level: sky write
9th level: fly
13th level: find greater steed (griffon, pegasus or peryton only)
17th level: control winds
Avian Slayer
At 3rd level, you learn how to best take down threats coming from above. The benefits gained from your Favored Enemy or Favored Foe feature applies to all creatures with a flying speed.
Furthermore, if you cast
hunter's mark on a creature with flying speed, you do not need to concentrate on the spell to maintain it.
Skybound
Also at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with air vehicles. If you already have proficiency with them, you learn another vehicle proficiency (land or sea) of your choice instead .
You learn how to navigate through the skies using airstreams and the position of the stars. As long as you see the sky, you know where north is.
Sky-legged
At 7th level, your time spent in the air has improved your balance. You have advantage on any skill check or saving throw made against being pushed, pulled or knocked prone.
Wings of Wonder
At 11th level, if you cast
fly on yourself, you do not need to concentrate on the spell. The duration of the spell increases to 1 hour for yourself.
Winds of Fury
At 15th level, you summon ferocious winds to bolster your strikes. Whenever you hit a creature with an attack, you can choose to push it up to 30 feet away from you or pull it up to 30 feet towards you. If the target ends up midair without the ability to hover, it falls to the ground.
