Aegeon, also known as the "Fell Omen", is a cosmological entity that is claimed to have arrived into the world riding
the Fellstar. It is said to herald doom and drive people into madness as they catch glimpses of truths that a mortal mind cannot fathom. Those that worship Aegeon however claim that a person can learn those truths through complete devotion that changes one's mind and body.
Its whole existence was unknown until recently, when a cult calling themselves
Disciples of the Dark Star started spreading among those infected by the chaotic energies emanating from the meteorite pieces originating from the Fellstar. The cult claims that unlike the rest of the meteor, Aegeon crashed into the continent of
Chronan and became sealed in the process. They are collecting
chaos artifacts in order to release Aegeon, who they see as a deity, from its earthly prison back into the world it arrived from, and be richly rewarded by it. Many of those
mutated by chaos lean into this faith in hopes of Aegeon transforming them back into their original forms once liberated.
As of late, some scholars and priests of
The Order have started to see a connection between Aegeon and
Aegias-Meteo, the head deity of the
Gods of Time and Order. A holy relic of the dual gods known as the Multifaceted Mask indicates that there were originally three, not two, aspects of the god: the Creator, the Destroyer
and the Changer. The official stance of The Order vehemently denies any of this, and persecute all followers of this "false
God of Chaos".
