After trying to harness the power of an enity of pure light energy, much of the Star System is wiped out, killing all but very few individuals.

Vast amounts of machinery were being used to harness the energy from nuclear fusion as they pumped hydrogen into the entity. This became unregulated due to a malfunction and the being began to expand uncontrollably. Runaway nuclear fusion began as it rapidly became hotter and denser and, after just 8 minutes, the entity spewed vast quantities of gas and dust everywhere in the explosion of a supernova. This instantly vapourises the entirety of the station and surrounding constructions and incinerates all life once on Hougiiter. Soon after, the planet shatters due to the intense heat. Only very few Mordaans survived (those not in the Star System), all of which soon died as they ran of supplies. Many of these ships still float around this area of the galaxy.
