Scott Screegullbeard was an adventurer of
The Windblown and tasked with exploring
Vardura. He was known for his spiritual and psychic connection to a flock of native screegulls, carnivorous sea birds known for their violence.
The Second Echwink Expedition
Scott Screegullbeard allegedly perished in the Temple of 1,000 Legs. Upon investigation,
The Suckhole Six discovered that Scott's party had lost their lives due to treachery, and assumed Scott perished alongside them. However, when the Six later responded to an apparent call for help from Scott, they found the truth to be a bit more complicated.
Apparently, Scott was rescued from the betrayal and nursed back to health by his flock of screegulls. In his weak state, their hive-mind like connection strengthened and their individual identities began to meld together along the harmonies of
The Evervoice. Despite Scott's increased health, his identity suddenly vanished from the flock. Though the birds could still animate and operate his living body, and even access memories, Scott's "soul" was no longer present. Despite the ethical complications, the Six left Scott and the birds to their own devices in the depths of
Ferrous Forest.
As to where Scott's soul went, there is some speculation that it has to do with
Ivin Ivinson, the
Windblown Funeral Rites, and
Xun.
