Kaf the Chronicler

I have seen the end of the world, and its rebirth. I have lost one culture and found home in another. It is not for me to condemn the great spirits that move themselves through the world, creating and destroying as they go. It is not for me to praise them, either. I have come to accept that I am but a single seed seeking rich soil in which to plant myself - whether or not the sun decides to shine or the rain desires to fall is not mine to know.   There are, however, those who would challenge Ayuna Itself in order to control their own destinies. There are those who would defy all natural law to create order where before swirled only chaos. This takes a strength of spirit I have never possessed, but I am grateful for their efforts, for they afford me the physical and material security I require in order to allow my mind its freedom to create.

Personal history

While Kaf was beginning to coalesce their memories for "In My Mind", Kyn Rämwar was building his bridge - an event that would change Kaf's life almost as much as the Foaba had.   For more than 70 years, Kaf had moved among the peoples of the Che Kycho Quy, disorganized and itinerant bands of survivors. Kaf was one of the few who clung to some of the knowledge and education they had received before the world fell apart, repeating the story of the Foaba over and over again in their head until it was polished and memorized. When Hamansa premiered Folwa in 76fa, Kaf immediately learned it, and finally had a way to write down all of the stories that needed to be told.

Education

Whatever a standard education was for Mukan children until around the age of 7 and the Foaba happened.  For the rest of Kaf's life, they were purely self-taught.

Employment

Although very old by this time, Kaf had traveled to Kynslin for The Great Tournament, having been delighted to cross the new bridge and experience the wondrous city that was growing on the sea's edge. Having seen, for the first time in a very long time, others who were embracing the arts as a way to thrive rather than just survive, Kaf decided to stay in Bramin, and soon became an important member of the growing company of scholars that eventually founded The Conservatory
In addition to Kaf's recollections of the Foaba, they became one of the official historians of The Kingdom of Bramin, chronicling the creation and rise of the monarchy and its people.

Mental Trauma

Kaf had obviously suffered greatly during and after the Foaba, as evidenced in both the prose and the fragmentation of In My Mind, Ruins. My Mind, In Ruins.. It wasn't until Kaf found stability and scholarly companions that things seemed to really improve.  The Chronicler speaks briefly to this in their Introduction to The Building of Bramin.
Who Was Kaf?
Very little is known about Kaf the Chronicler, other than what exists of their writings. Compared to other sources of the time (of which there are very few), Kaf seems to have been one of the most authentic and forthright historians to have witnessed the creation of The Kingdom of Bramin, not to mention their wrenching first-hand account of the Foaba.
