Stupor
The word Stupor refers to the many stillborn horses produced in the quest to breed Murses. While Stupors survive the Ritual that is meant to turn them into a Murse and are born with fully functioning organs, their soul and brain get damaged in the process to such an extent that they never reach conciousness and thus die just a few days after birth of starvation or exhaustion.
Exactly this is what makes breeding Murses so expensive.
To cut their losses many Murse breeders will slaughter the Stupors right after birth and sell their meat on the market. Consuming this meat is seen as unproblematic and so up to twenty percent of the meat supply can be made up by it in Murse breeding cities.
There is only one known instance of a so called "Live Stupor". Folktales and Legends have it that the most powerfull Necromancer ever known, Mallamor received a Stupor as payment instead of the debtors soul and merged its conciousness with his own.
