Celestial Crystals

Celestial Crystals are crystals that manifest certain powers obtained from the moons, sun, and sky, called Auras. Aura is a potent magical energy force that radiates from the sun and moons, each with their own special properties. These crystals harness and manifest Aura dependent on what celestial body they have absorbed.

Celestial crystals take the form of 3 different types: Kaalite, Aanlite, and Iilite dependent on the absorbed energy. Each of these crystals carry unique properties and can be mined and refined into useful materials.

Manifestation

Lunar

There are two types of lunar crystals, Kaalite and Aanlite, named from the two moons that dominate the night sky, Kaal and Aan. The two lunar crystals will give off a faint blue glow and tend to be cold to the touch. Refined the lunar crystals are capable of being powerful arcane focuses for mages, well sought after re-usable sources of light, and can even, in some rare cases, harness the power of the moon to bring forth magical energy that can burn the flesh of monsters.

Solar

Named from the sun, Iila, Iilite is warm to the touch and gives off a red or yellow glow depending on the strength of the Aura its harnessed. Refined solar crystals are used as Night Beast deterrent due to their hatred of the sun and in rare cases are capable of creating fire in large scale.    

Interactions 

The Celestial Crystals are best used alone, separate from each other, but there are some notable interactions that scholar's have discovered when the crystals are used with or against one another. Not only that, but the crystals seem to have a lot more interactions with the world itself.   Celestial Crystals have been noted to create magical fields around them, like waves in a pool, that attracts more magical energy towards the crystal. What causes this and what the effects are are mostly unknown by scholars. But the affect has been referred to as The Law of Celestial Attraction, as its similar to how the celestial bodies orbit and move with one another.   When the crystals are used with or against one another their effects seem to be negated, creating a negative energy field where magic is unable to be used. Why this occurs scholars don't know for certain, but their current hypothesis is that the energy fields combat one another to the point that the opposite effect occurs.
