Military folk (Mill-il-tary)

Being in the military in Garda is a privileged but very dangerous job. The military folk are the second lowest on the social scale but that does not mean they are treated poorly. Soldiers are highly respected in their communities and some high ranking generals, if they're lucky enough, land themselves a position at court.    Anybody of any social class, gender, or magical ability can join the military. Joining the military is a popular job choice for people with no magical ability as the military is more physical strength then magical strength. The only kingdom that has 'protectors' rather then a military is the death kingdom.    Most soldiers come from commoner families who either just love the thrill of fighting or want a some what of better life for themselves and their family.

Qualifications

To join the military they must have basic training, gone through the training camp process and know how to wield either a sword or a bow and arrow. The qualifications differ for each kingdom but the general idea is that.

Requirements

Any gender can join the military in any kingdom (that includes LGBT folk too), most soldiers should try to enlist when they're young (18-20's) and having an ancestor in the military can really help a persons chances of getting in. Any person of any social class can join the military (expect for royalty and ambassadors although there are some exceptions with ambassadors).

Appointment

If a person wants to join the military.
  1. First they must have basic training.
  2. They must go through a sort of exam (like a training camp) to show they are worthy enough to join.
  3. If they pass they start out as the lowest rank and can make their way to the top through, trust, control, training and hard work.

Duties

The duties of a solider are to protect the ruler, the kingdom and it's citizens from danger. Either from dark magic or from other kingdoms. The military can also be used as law enforcement, kind of like normal policemen, to keep the citizens in check.

  • If they are a general they must report to the ruler if there is any trouble or they have any concerns about the kingdoms safety.

  • Respect from their community
  • A higher pension then most jobs

Accoutrements & Equipment

Each kingdom has a different military uniform but each one has a similar style
  • A helmet
  • Chest plate
  • Body Armor
  • and a badge showing which kingdom they're from
Each solider also either has a sword or a bow and arrow.
