Mare

In order to be a mare a person would have to have good grades in school and have studied herbal medicine in university.

normal mare's are paid £294,500. An apprentice are paid £190,850 and senior mares are paid £330,500. It's a well paying job.

Mare's are seen as wise and sometimes even spiritual healers. They're seen as being able to cure things normal doctors couldn't and had a wiser understanding of magic and it's healing abilities. In short they're respected massively, even more respected then magic professors and staff makers.

The purpose of a mare is similar to a doctor but instead of curing illnesses and healing wounds they specialize in healing magic created conditions and illnesses, such as magic overload. Instead of western medicine they use herbal medicine and spells for healing.

Most mares are commoners despite their wealthy pay and how respected they are. They prefer this due to their spiritual beliefs.

There are only one group of mares in each kingdom so the population of mares are very, VERY small. Only 5% of the population of Garda are mares.

The profession first appeared when magic overload became a known thing. Mares realised since the condition was magic based they could use herbs and magical crystals for healing. After they tested this technique out and it worked other people wanted to study spiritual medicine too, thus mares became a thing.

Mares carry:

• Herbs such as Aloe vera, Juniper tree, Garlic, onions, etc. Mares can have different herbs to other mares depending on what Kingdom they're from. 
• A mortar and pestle
• Glass bottles
• Sometimes even written down teachings of senior or past mares. 
• Spell books

And they keep all of this in a satchel that they have with them at all times.

Mares gather in a mares tent, a massive tent which mares have meetings and store their supplies. this tent can also be used for lessons for medical students or apprentices. Tents have the alluring smell of herbs and spices lingering around the tent. In the centre there's rows of cushions leading up to a stand where the mares hold meetings and lessons. Most of the tents are blue and white, white being the colour of medicine and blue because of it's spiritual meaning of harmony, peace, calmness, things mares stand for and what they aim to be, calm, peaceful and wise.
